We are a disaster-prone country, considering our unique geographical location. We are on the direct path of typhoons. We are part of the Pacific ring of fire, thereby rendering us prone to earthquakes and tsunamis. We have been visited, with tragic consequences, by super typhoons. And we are always under the shadow of the “Big One,” and the question is not even if it will come, but when. But these are things that are beyond our control and for which we just have to prepare.
