Indonesia’s largest telecommunication service provider Telkom is said to be in talks to buy a stake in Go-Jek, before the company, which began its business as a ride-hailing firm in the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, launches its operation in Singapore, the StraitsTimes reports. Previously, Reuters reported that Go-Jek was seeking to raise about $2 billion from existing investors, including Tencent Holdings Ltd and JD.com, to fund its expansion plans in Southeast Asia, quoting sources familiar with the issue. Go-Jek is expected to deliver an early Christmas present to Singapore, according to Today Online, as it confirmed on Wednesday that selected commuters will be able to start booking rides with its beta mobile application before year-end.
