Facebook announced Thursday that it will build a $1 billion data center in Singapore, its first in Asia and 15th in the world. The centre, which will be one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly sites in Asia, is expected to open in 2022, according to the Associated Press. Meanwhile in the US people are falling out of love of Facebook as 44 percent of younger users, aged 18 to 29, have deleted the Facebook phone app in the past year, according to a Pew Research Center survey released Wednesday. Reuters found more than 1,000 examples of posts, comments and pornographic images attacking the Rohingya and other Muslims on Facebook. A secretive operation set up by the social media giant to combat the hate speech is failing to end the problem.
