Thailand’s junta number two has been snapped with 25 different luxury watches worth US$1.2 million since a 2014 coup, social media sleuths said Wednesday, a day after the ex-general vowed to resign if a graft panel finds him guilty of wrongdoing. Previously in December, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan said he would clarify to the National Anti-Corruption Commission the reasons he was seen wearing an expensive, but undeclared watch. Earlier this month, the country’s anti-corruption commission said that it would examine four people for their alleged involvement in Prawit’s luxury watch scandal.
