Hanoi’s Thang Long Water Puppet Theater and Penang’s Fort Cornwallis have been listed among the world’s “100 most boring tourist attractions” by online gaming company Solitaired. The company said it compiled the list based on Google reviews. The firm reported that the list was drawn up by an analysis of 66.7million Google reviews of 3,290 popular tourist attractions worldwide, spanning 384 cities across 71 countries. Analysts calculated a boredom score for each tourist attraction by focusing on 11 keywords indicative of tiresome, lifeless and boring impressions, to determine the least interesting places. Located right in the famous Hanoi Old Quarter and in front of the ancient Sword Lake, the Thang Long Water Puppet Theater came in 31st with a boredom score of 2.2 out of five points. It is a tourist destination that offers unique performances telling historical stories through the use of traditional puppets on water. In 2010, the theater was recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. On Tripadvisor, many foreign tourists praised the site as “a very tourist oriented experience.” Fort Cornwallis, a bastion fort in Penang built in the late 18th century, ranked 63rd with a score of 2 points. It is Malaysia’s oldest and largest fort, with entry fees costing RM20 for foreigners. The world’s most boring attraction was the Branson Scenic Railway, followed by the Illuminarium, both in the U.S.  Read more at: https://e.vnexpress.net/news/travel/places/southeast-asian-destinations-among-world-s-most-boring-tourist-attractions-4750760.html
