The Thai Ministry of Labor has launched a new digital platform, “e-WorkPermit”, offering a 24-hour online service for registering and managing foreign workers in Thailand. Labor Minister Treenuch Thienthong said the system allows applicants to complete the entire process—from submission and status tracking to approval and permit issuance—without visiting government offices. Part of the “Outsourcing Service Project for Producing Work Permits and Providing Application and Employment Notification Services for Foreign Workers”, the system promotes greater efficiency, transparency, and convenience for users. Nationwide service begins on Oct. 13 through the website eworkpermit.doe.go.th. The Department of Employment has also prepared 54 Work Permit Service Centers nationwide to facilitate implementation. Department of Employment Director-General Pichet Thongpan stated that the platform streamlines the work permit process by reducing paperwork and bureaucratic steps, while improving data security and coordination among agencies. All related information will be managed within an integrated digital database accessible to relevant authorities for monitoring and verification. Applicants can register on the website, submit their employment details, and pay the application fee online at any time. The system automatically reviews documentation and provides updates via email, SMS, or the official Line OA channel. Once approved, applicants can pay permit fees and book appointments at their preferred service center, with biometric identity verification—such as facial, iris, and fingerprint scans—to ensure accuracy.
