The state of education in the Philippines has been a source of national concern, and for good reason. The 2022 Program for International Student Assessment results, which found that 75 percent of our students are low performers in core subjects, and a 2022 World Bank study showing that 91 percent of our 10-year-olds struggle with reading simple texts, paint a grim picture.
