More than a year after Covid-19 disrupted lives, Filipino workers are less anxious to go out to attend to their needs, a study revealed. The 2021 PhilCare Wellness Index showed that most of those surveyed said that they are now more comfortable going to the hospital. Most workers are also more comfortable going to the supermarket to buy basic necessities. Also, they now consider health care among the top three things that they value in the workplace, aside from good salary and the financial stability of the company. Lead researcher Dr. Fernando Paragas said the study enabled them to get a “better picture” of how Filipino workers have adjusted and how going through the new normal has affected their health and wellness. Former Health secretary and PhilCare Wellness Index Chairman for 2021 Dr. Enrique Ona said conducting the study was important now that people are “raring” to go back to workplaces in a safe manner.
