Malaysia’s former defence minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, who is the cousin of former prime minister Najib Razak and a member of the opposition, has offered in his personal capacity to try and bring fugitive financier Low Taek Jho back to Malaysia, vowing to do “until the end of the world”, The Star reports. Since Malaysia does not have an extradition treaty with China, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said he was resorting to “private efforts” to bring the fugitive back. The highly anticipated book, ‘Billion Dollar Whale: The Man Who Fooled Wall Street, Hollywood, and the World’, was published last month, detailing Jho Low’s alleged involvement in the misappropriation of funds from 1 Malaysia Development Berhad.
