Two armed ethnic groups in Myanmar have agreed to sign a ceasefire with the government, state media reported on Wednesday, as leader Aung San Suu Kyi seeks to revive a stuttering peace process to end decades of conflict. The National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) draft was achieved in March 2015 and subsequently signed on October 15, the same year by former administration and eight armed organizations after nearly 20 months of negotiation between government and a dozen of armed ethnic organizations. The other seven ethnic armed groups will not sign a peace agreement with the government in its current form, but will instead form a committee to establish a new approach to the peace process.
