More than 430 Japanese companies will recruit around 1,400 Myanmar workers, according to a statement issued by the Myanmar Embassy in Japan on 15 October. According to the statement, up to 430 Japanese companies would offer jobs to more than 300 Myanmar male workers and more than 1,000 Myanmar female workers. These Myanmar workers will be employed mainly in nursing homes, food processing and production, and construction work. The embassy statement says it verifies whether labor supervisory companies and factories or companies that offer jobs in Japan are officially established. It then submits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labor through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Japan recruits many foreign workers for employed in economic sectors that are being expanded to resolve a labor shortage in the country. Japan began recruitment of foreign workers in 2019 to tackle this serious labor shortage. Read more at:
