The Chin Brotherhood Alliance and the National Unity Government (NUG) announced ongoing discussions centered on social welfare, relief, and resettlement strategies, during a press conference on 15 August. The announcement follows an online meeting held on 13 August, which included the NUG, the Federal Government and State-Federal Units Cooperation Commission (FSCC), the Chin Brotherhood Alliance, and the Interim Chin National Consultative Council (ICNCC). The meeting focused on addressing the pressing needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and other affected communities. We have also engaged with NUG ministers on health-related issues and are in the process of exploring ways to cooperate on the livelihood and rehabilitation of IDPs from Matupi in Chin State. Preliminary talks have begun, particularly concerning the needs of women,” said Chin Brotherhood Alliance spokesperson Salai Yaw Mann at the press conference. On 10 August, the Matupi District People’s Administration announced that preparations for the safe return of residents to Matupi, now cleared of Military Council troops, have been completed.
