Malaysia’s senior minister Ismail Sabri on Tuesday (Sept 1) announced that long-term pass holders from India, Indonesia and the Philippines will not be allowed into the country due to a spike in Covid-19 cases in those countries. He said the new restrictions will come into force from Sept 7 and will apply to permanent residents, Malaysia My Second Home pass holders, expatriates, spousal visa holders and foreign students. “The decision was made following advice from the health ministry to ensure Covid-19 is contained in the country,” he said during his press briefing.
