BERNAMA -1 Feb: AirAsia today officiated the recently launched route from Kuala Lumpur to Davao, the Philippines.
In a statement, AirAsia said the route now operates with four times weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Davao, a city on the island of Mindanao.
Aireen Omar, AirAsia Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer – Digital, Transformation, Corporate Services of AirAsia, said: ‘We do not only connect Davao to Malaysia, but we also bring Davao closer to our extensive network of destinations in ASEAN, Northeast Asia, South Asia, Australasia, the Middle East and the US’.
AirAsia is committed to growing tourism beyond the most famous tourism hot spots, she said, adding that, ‘We look forward to work closely with the Davao City Mayor, airport authorities and government bodies to put Davao on the map of must-visit destinations in ASEAN.’
All-in-fares from RM169 (inclusive of taxes) one-way are available for booking online at www.airasia.com from now until Feb 18, 2018 for the travel period from now until July 31, 2018.
The new route signifies the third direct route from Malaysia to the Philippines after Manila and Cebu.
