Malaysian police on Tuesday said the disappearance of an industrial item containing radioactive material more than a week ago appeared to have no link to terrorism, the Associated Press reports. The case of a missing industrial device containing radioactive material in Malaysia is not the first time such a device has gone missing, said the country’s police chief Mohamad Fuzi Harun on Monday. Selangor police say the missing Radioactive Dispersal Device (RDD) contains 50 curies of Iridium-192 and is capable of causing nausea and headaches at exposure level of 500 mSv (millisievert). Exposure exceeding 500 mSv will cause a person’s skin to burn, Free Malaysia Today reports.
