Fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho has been actively involved in the affairs of his two Hong Kong-registered companies, even with Malaysian authorities in hot pursuit of him across several countries, South China Morning Post has learned. Former Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak said the businessman, also known as Jho Low, had a significant role in 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) due to his strategic relationship with several Middle East royalties. Najib has denied corruption charges  over the disappearance of millions of dollars from the state investment fund, as part of a graft probe while he was in office. He was detained but later released on bail of RM20,000 with one surety.
