The Indonesian parliament has passed a controversial new act known as the Omnibus Law, so named because it brings together a raft of different measures. The measures packaged into the Omnibus Law are designed to streamline regulation over the economy, set a structure in place for the construction of Indonesia’s new capital city and reinstate a degree of centralization for decision-making on environmental issues.
