The Jakarta Post-Aug 3
The Bekasi administration has launched an application called “Titik Jumantik” to enable mosquito larvae controllers, locally known as jumantik, to report the findings of the larvae quickly, so that the spread of dengue virus and malaria can be prevented.
The head of E-Government of the Bekasi Communication, Information, Statistics and Codes Agency, Teti Handayani, said that the application would help the administration handle those diseases more effectively. “If a report about the finding of a virus is submitted in the application, the related agencies will directly get a notification and they can respond to the report soon,” Teti said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.
Currently, the application can only be used in Margahayu, East Bekasi and Margajaya, South Bekasi. Further, the application will be improved so it can be used in all neighborhood and community units (RTs and RWs) in all 12 districts in Bekasi.
