Minister of Information Khieu Kanharith have told the owners of television stations to ban the broadcast of the movie Methagu at the request of the Sri Lankan government, saying the movie reflects the life of the former Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). In a letter dated September 23, Kanharith said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation had received a request from Sri Lanka asking Cambodia to help prevent the film’s broadcast. “Methagu reflects the life of the former terrorist organization LTTE. It was directed by Velupillai Prabhakaran and produced by the Tamil Eelam Film Society, which identifies LTTE as one of the most brutal terrorist organizations in the world,” he said.
