Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he had no knowledge about a letter purportedly sent to the US’ Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) by a division under his department prior to the 14th General Election, The Star Online reports. Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng demands an investigation into a government letter to the US intelligence agency that purportedly sought support for Datuk Seri Najib Razak just days before the May 9 general election. Lim, who is also Bagan MP, said there were many questions surrounding the issuance of such a letter as it concerned Malaysia’s sovereignty. A copy of the alleged letter, promoted Najib’s “progressive foreign policies”, saying Malaysia was a crucial ally and the only viable one in the Southeast Asian region.
