The Malaysian government is not monitoring members of the Johor royal family using covert surveillance systems as alleged by Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Ibrahim, said Deputy Home Minister Azis Jamman as quoted by The Straits Times on Monday. Over the weekend, the crown prince published a statement on his Facebook page, alleging the current government of spying on him and his father. The prince has been very candid of his support of the previous government and no stranger to posting his political comments in social media. In another Facebook post, he recalled a series of ill-treatments his family allegedly received from government officer under Mahathir back in 1992, when Malaysia was facing a “constitutional crisis”.
