Indonesia has held its ranking in the latest world talent competitiveness index compiled by Swiss business school IMD, making it the lowest ranked Southeast Asian country when it comes to developing, attracting and retaining talent in the country. The index ranked Indonesia 47 as per the previous year, below neighbours Singapore (13), Malaysia (28), Thailand (42) and the Philippines which managed to leapfrog over Indonesia to 45, up ten spots from last year. Meanwhile, Malaysia has dropped seven places to 28th for their ability to retain and attract local and foreign high-skilled workers. The Philippines ranked 45th out of 63 countries surveyed, jumping several spots from No. 51 out of 61 nations rated in 2016.
